Alcoholism
treatment

We provide comprehensive help with alcohol problems. Each patient at Premium Practice undergoes thorough assessment, which includes the evaluation of the possible toxic effects of alcohol consumption. A psychiatrist-narcologist, a therapist and a neurologist prescribe treatments aimed at healing the organs and bodily systems, including a detox course. Every day the patient is taken care of by doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, a neuropsychologist and a rehabilitation therapist. We help our patients to both achieve sobriety, and modify their behavior for the better, restore healthy interests, values and gain themselves back.

Sobriety will become a natural continuation of the many changes in the mind of the patient.

Addiction
treatment

The many hundreds of addictive drugs such as opiates, psychostimulants, cannabinoids, and so on, differ in effect, damage, and the type of addiction they create. With that in mind, each of the drug groups requires special treatment. Different addictions call for different methods for diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating patients. The doctors at the Premium Practice clinic perform a thorough assessment, and help the patient’s body heal the damage, as well as restore the patient’s mood and sleep.

Our Psychologists help find a way out of addiction, and help both the patient and their close ones.

Depression
treatment

Depression rates are at an all time high, and yet, a lot of those who suffer from it refuse help, often underestimating the severity of their condition. Their close ones can rarely tell how bad it gets too. This ends up dragging everyone’s quality of life down, while contributing to the development of psychosomatic conditions, and in the worst case, even to suicide. Depression is not laziness, nor it is weakness. There is no way to pull yourself up by your bootstraps out of it. At Premium Practice, patients enjoy total comfort and full assistance from both doctors and psychologists. The regimen contains medical procedures, various psychotherapeutic sessions, wellness activities, yoga, etc.

We make sure you regain both your strength and ability to enjoy life.

Family
issues

The list of mental problems that the clinic helps with is extensive. When a crisis is urgent, immediate help is vital. In the absence of timely quality care, mental conditions become worse and end up disrupting both the patient’s and his close ones’ lives. At Premium Practice, patients are treated after in-depth and thorough medical evaluation aimed at providing the most accurate diagnosis. Treatments are comprehensive, and involve doctors, professors, psychologists, and rehabilitation therapists. Gambling addiction
treatment

The gambling problem often becomes apparent only in its later stages, when the obsession and financial losses become too obvious. Gambling addiction is not that much different from drug addiction in terms of behavior. The disruption to the functions of the brain and psyche brought on by both is similar. The addiction to betting and gambling is just as strong as addiction to drugs. The treatment for gambling addiction is therefore as intensive as that for drug addiction. Premium Practice doctors work to eliminate the symptoms of gambling addiction, improve the patient’s mindfulness, and normalize their mood.

This treatment course will help the patient regain the joy of life, return them to society, and stop wasting money on gambling.

Action plan and
stages of treatment
The comprehensive treatment program at Premium Practitiсe includes daily activities aimed at a more efficient recovery, continuous progress evaluation, and personal growth. The course of treatment could theoretically be divided into the following stages:
01. Initial presentation
02. Strategic session
03. Integration and adaptation
04. Professorial supervision
05. Personal expertise
06. Coping skills and strategies therapy
07. Pre-discharge stage
08. Reintegration and resocialization
09. Post-rehabilitation support
Stage 1
Initial presentation
A free call to the clinic answers the many questions patients have for the doctors and psychologists. The logistics of arriving and staying at the clinic are also discussed. If needed, the staff gives the patient a virtual video tour of the facility. Additionally, if the patient is hesitant about going, our motivational experts can visit the patient to help them make the decision and start treatment.
Stage 2
Strategic session
At this stage, the medical team gets acquainted with the patient and their relatives, and looks into the patient’s objective and subjective medical history. All the patient’s questions are answered. The clinic’s values and principles as well as the rules of the treatment program are established and agreed upon. The wishes of customers and guests are also taken into account. The logistics of undergoing the treatment are discussed and agreed upon.
Stage 3
Integration and adaptation
This is the stage where the multidisciplinary team develops a relationship with the patient. This includes assessment of the patient’s condition and the subsequent alleviation of the primary symptoms bothering them. The next step is motivational support. Leading specialists work with both the patient and their family to provide the most accurate diagnosis, establish the most effective care protocol, and take the illness under control. This stage takes from 7 to 14 days.
Stage 4
Professorial supervision
This is where an extended multi-disciplinary team headed by a full professor and a chief physician meets with the patient. The patient’s condition is thoroughly evaluated, with different treatment strategies weighed for achieving the best possible outcome.
Stage 5
Personal expertise
This stage aims to raise the patient’s personal expertise on their condition. Both the patient and their relatives are provided with all the information and knowledge about the condition, treatment options, and the expected results. This stage ends when all of the necessary information has been provided.
Stage 6
Coping skills and strategies therapy
This is the stage where all the knowledge the patient has received is put to use. Destroying obsolete and defective coping skills in exchange for new and effective ones.
Stage 7
Pre-discharge stage
This being the last inpatient stage of treatment, all the progress the patient has made is evident by the mastery of the psychological tools and techniques learnt during the previous stages of treatment. A number of special meetings are carried out, including a family meeting aimed to prepare them for outpatient care as well as motivate them to continue the program.
Stage 8
Reintegration and resocialization
The outpatient stage of reintegration involves working with the patient after they are discharged from the hospital. Our experts help the patient to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired at Premium Practice into their everyday life. This stage usually takes up to 3 months with a gradual decrease in the frequency of meetings. These can be either face-to-face, or via video calls.
Stage 9
Post-rehabilitation support
After the full recommended course of treatment is complete, the patient can receive support in the form of consultations and personal supervision. At this stage, the frequency of contact with the doctors is not as important as consistency. The most relapse-prone period is the first 2 years after remission. Therefore it is recommended to continue receiving support at least 1-2 times a month for no less than 2 years.

Neurocognitive Recovery Course

A unique course of neurocognitive recovery is part of every treatment program at the Premium Practice clinic. This approach is based on the most up-to-date scientific data on the functioning of the brain, the causes and consequences of mental disorders and addictions.

In the bigger picture, the goal of this course is to identify the consequences of the disorder for the brain and carry out a large set of measures to restore its function; this course helps to speed up recovery and the development of new skills. The course structure:

Neurodiagnostics

This stage takes place within 2-3 days of the patient’s admission to the clinic. A neuropsychologist and a neurologist run a comprehensive neurological and neuropsychological assessment of the brain and the peripheral nervous system. Once the suboptimal brain functions are identified, the doctors develop a personal course of neurocognitive correction and rehabilitation therapy. This stage includes neuropsychological testing, neuroenergy mapping (NEM), consultation and examination by a neurologist, consultation and examination by a psychiatrist-narcologist and a rehabilitation doctor.

Neurocognitive correction

This course is aimed at recovering cognitive function, if the patient’s condition requires it. The course includes sessions with a neuropsychologist and special computer training sessions. The goal of this treatment program is to increase the patients mental adaptability to social and personal challenges, improve memory, neuroplasticity, neurogenesis, focus, and mental clarity, among other things. This speeds up recovery and improves the quality of the results. The course includes neurocognitive training, biofeedback therapy, and computer training sessions.

Neurobiochemical correction

On the one hand, psychological problems and mental disorders can be the result of a nervous system condition. On the other hand, alcohol and drugs can be toxic to the brain, causing disruption in the nervous system and killing off neurons. In such cases, medication prescribed by our doctors helps restore the nervous system to a healthy state, and deliver the necessary nutrients and oxygen to the affected neurons. As part of the neurobiochemical correction course, the patients undergo micronutrient, nootropic, vitamin, and metabolic treatment programs.

Neurophysiological correction

We have a range of different physiological procedures aimed at improving the patients’ focus, memory, coordination, balance, and blood flow, while also removing harmful toxins from the body. This complex also increases the production of the BDNF protein conducive to raising neurotrophins, which stimulate and support the regrowth of neurons. This treatment includes massages, thermo-hydrotherapy, herbal medicine, oxygen therapy, as well as functional exercises (kinesitherapy) yoga, Qigong, exercise therapy, mechanotherapy, etc.

Neuroenergy mapping (NEM)
NEM is an innovative and unparalleled method for diagnosing the functional state of the brain. It is included in the assessment procedure for each patient in the clinic. The method works by obtaining information about the use of glucose by the brain, and, consequently, about the state of energy activity of the brain. The data obtained during the NEM procedure allows the doctors to tailor the treatment to each patient, be it medication, psychotherapy, neurocorrection, massages, or physical activity. It also allows us to track the progress of treatment and fine tune the strategy to maximize the positive changes.

Micronutrient support
The goal of these measures is to put nutrients to work on improving specific brain functions. Like any other organ, the brain needs vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids and essential fatty acids, including omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Thus, by conducting special laboratory diagnostics, as well as collecting an anamnesis about the nature and characteristics of the patient’s condition, its development and symptoms, a nutritionist prescribes a special diet and food supplements that replenish the missing microelements. This has a positive effect on the rate and quality of brain recovery.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
There are more than 72 types of psychotherapy out there. Only a few of these methods have undergone a full-fledged scientific scrutiny and received recognition in the scientific community. Each of these methods is presented at the Premium Practice clinic. However, at the heart of the treatment programs lies cognitive behavioral therapy. It is considered to be one of the most scientifically sound and technically verified types of psychotherapy. Currently, due to a shortage of qualified specialists, the use of this method on psychiatric and drug rehab patients is rare. CBT focuses on the symptoms of the disease, and then touches on the causes that led to defective attitudes, thoughts and actions. The result of psychotherapy is the newly gained self-awareness and change in the negative attitudes, the formation of new thinking, a change in the emotional state, an increase in stress resistance, the development of new ways of responding to certain circumstances, and the solution of the underlying psychological issue.

Cosmeceutics and cosmetology
The comprehensive approach employed at Premium Practice involves working with both the psychological and the physical state of the patient. Some psychological conditions affect the patient’s appearance. That being said, positive external changes always improve the patient’s mood and motivation for recovery. Each patient of the clinic in any treatment program gets a consultation from a dermatologist/cosmetologist and rehabilitation specialist. Special procedures are prescribed to restore a healthy look.

Psychophysiological verification and kinesics
In some cases during treatment patients deliberately hide some of the symptoms of their condition, depriving the medical staff of information, and thus delaying the recovery process. As an additional method of obtaining accurate information, our specialists use kinesics and psychophysiological tools. These methods enable the doctors to accurately assess the severity of the patient’s condition and mood.

Ask a question
The patient refuses to go. What do we do?

In this case there are 3 options:

  1. If the patient does come to the clinic, but still refuses treatment, our specialists will do their best to motivate them.
  2. If the patient refuses to leave the house, we stage an intervention at home, motivate the patient to start the treatment, and take them to the clinic once they agree.
  3. The third option is for situations where the patient’s relatives don’t want to directly discuss the treatment with the patient. The relatives are invited to the clinic and after a series of meetings they are briefed on how to help the patient realize they need to take action.
Why will your treatment be successful where other treatments have failed?

One of the key factors is how wide-ranging our approach to every patient is. With an array of tools and methods we attack the disease from multiple angles at once.

Now, this level of effectiveness stands on 5 pillars:

  • At Premium Practice, an intensive treatment program is tailored for each patient. The program focuses on personal work rather than group work. This allows creating a program that suits every particular patient’s needs.
  • The programs at the сlinic are always multifaceted, with a unique multidisciplinary team of at least 11 highly qualified specialists in the field of medicine, psychology, family psychology, rehabilitation, and neuropsychology, working on the case.
  • The programs are intensive. 9 hours of activities per day with breaks for wellness-focused activities.
  • The methods used in the clinic are scientifically sound. This means that they have proven themselves to be the most effective, reliable and safe.
  • The treatment program includes a course of neuro-cognitive recovery. This helps achieve results faster, and has a positive effect on the future quality of life.

Patients get to enjoy the comfortable conditions, as well as caring and friendly staff. Most importantly, the effectiveness of our programs are proven by the robust remission statistics.

Are patients allowed to use a phone during treatment?

In every case this issue is discussed in advance. If the patient and their family decide to allow access to communication during treatment, their decision will be respected.

We suggest minimizing the use of communication devices during treatment as much as possible because it can distract from the goal at hand.

Are patient visits allowed during treatment?

We don’t have the right to prohibit visits. Our specialists can only recommend the date and time for the visit so as to make it better facilitate the patient’s recovery. If you wish, you can discuss the meeting with the patient by calling the psychologist at the 24-hour phone number. It should be noted that specialists stay in touch with the patient’s family, therefore the issues of meetings and family therapy are often discussed in advance.

Cost of treatment

The cost of treatment is directly tied to the highest level of care and service. Each patient gets some 12 highly qualified specialists on their case, including professorial staff. No expenses are spared: the largest test panels, any medication, any method — everything is already included in the price. In other words, the payment is made for the result, not the services. That being said, it is important to remember that treating mental disorders and addictions are often saving the patient’s life, which means it must be approached with all seriousness: there may not be a second chance. Some try hundreds of expensive, but ineffective treatments, wasting time and fortune for very little results.

What kind of results should we expect from addiction treatment?

When treating addiction, the result goes beyond simple refusal to gamble or take drugs. Patients who complete the full course of treatment see positive behavior changes, their values and interests return to normal, their mood becomes stable. Sobriety is a logical continuation of an entire range of changes in the patient’s mind. It is a conscious choice, not imposed from the outside. This way the result is dependable, predictable, and comes easier compared to directive methods such as hypnosis and coding.

How did the disease develop?

When determining the source of mental disorders, the modern scientific world uses the biopsychosocial model. It is assumed that the development of the disease is influenced by biological (head injury, heredity, other diseases), psychological (upbringing, experience, stress, etc.), and social (family, friends, work, close circle, etc) factors. This model explains it as a combination of several factors leading to the development of the disease.

What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrist is a doctor with a higher medical education. He is a diagnostician who can prescribe drugs, and in some ways also participates in the rehabilitation process . A psychologist is a specialist with a higher psychological education. He has no right to prescribe drugs. A psychologist conducts psychological diagnostics, as well as group and individual psycho-correction sessions.

Will the patient be drugged unconscious?

No. In order to overcome this prejudice, it is important to understand a simple fact: every patient admitted to the clinic is then closely working with a psychologist and a psychotherapist, which requires the patient to be 100% conscious and aware. Therefore, heavy medication would only make the therapy more difficult and interfere with the rehabilitation process. One of the key goals of the treatment at the clinic is the patient’s ability to lead a mindful and independent life.
